Meet Amy.

My goal is to combine my love of reading with my journalistic skills to create a newsy, compelling podcast that is both informative and fun. Historical fiction, memoir and contemporary fiction are my reading mainstays, but I also push myself to explore new genres from poetry to fantasy.

Special guests in the forms of authors and friends add to the conversation and keep things lively. I also aim to keep listeners up-to-date on the latest from the publishing world and also keep my eye out for streaming shows and other podcasts that I think will resonate with listeners.

My reviews are honest and designed to give listeners the info they need to decide whether a book is right for them. Whether you are looking for the next title for your book club or you just want to entertained, my goal is to provide personalized and compelling content that keeps you engaged just like your favourite childhood novel.

Red Fern Book Review references my favourite childhood book, Where the Red Fern Grows, a classic American tale about a boy and his hunting dogs in the Ozarks. I remember being perched on top of a set of built-in bookcases for what seemed like days, refusing to go outside or go to bed so that I might keep reading. The devastating ending taught me the impact of powerful content at an early age.
