Photographer and friend Brian McConville is back on the podcast to talk about books and  captivity. Amy and Brian discuss Our Country Friends by Gary Shteyngart. Set in the rolling hills of upstate New York, this satirical novel focuses on a group of friends who gather in a country house to wait out the pandemic. Bel Canto by Ann Patchett is also discussed. This beloved, modern classic novel tells the story of a band of gun-wielding terrorists and a group of international guests who forge unexpected bonds. Amy helps Brian come up with a new book to break out of his reading rut.
